The guide
About Britannia Prize Guide
Britannia Prize Guide is an independent comparison guide to online casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Our purpose is simple: to help British players choose a casino with their eyes open — knowing what the welcome offer really pays, how long a withdrawal takes and whether the operator treats its customers well. The guide is free to read and always will be.
Our mission
Casino marketing is loud and the small print is long. We read the small print so that you do not have to, and we say plainly when an offer is not as generous as its headline. We are not a casino, we do not take bets and we have no interest in whether you play — only in making sure that if you do, you play somewhere licensed, fair and quick to pay.
How we make money
We are funded by affiliate marketing. When you follow a link from this site to a casino and open an account or make a deposit, the operator may pay us a referral fee — either a share of the revenue from that account or a fixed amount per new customer. This is the same model used by most comparison websites, from insurance to broadband. It costs you nothing: the offer you receive is the same as, or sometimes better than, the one you would get by visiting the casino directly. The commission we earn pays for the research, testing and writing that keeps the guide free.
Editorial independence
Commission does not buy a place in our rankings. The order of the list is set by our editorial criteria, and an operator cannot pay to move up it. We may decline to list a casino that pays us if it fails our standards, and we may list a casino that pays us nothing if it is genuinely good. Where content is sponsored — which is rare — it is clearly labelled. Every casino featured here is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission; we do not list unlicensed operators under any circumstances.
How we rank casinos
- Licensing and safety — a current UKGC licence, segregated player funds, clear complaint procedures and a track record without serious regulatory sanctions.
- Bonus value and fairness — the real value of the welcome offer after wagering requirements, game weighting, maximum bets and expiry are taken into account.
- Withdrawal speed and payment options — how quickly players are paid, whether fees apply, and support for PayPal, Apple Pay, Trustly and paysafecard alongside debit cards.
- Games and software — the depth of the slot library, the quality of live tables, published RTPs and the reliability of the platform.
- Experience — mobile performance, the speed of identity verification, the helpfulness of customer support and how easy safer gambling tools are to find.
- Player feedback — patterns in reader reports, public complaints and dispute‑resolution outcomes.
Trust over placement fees
A comparison site is only useful while readers trust it, and trust is built slowly and lost quickly. That is why we would rather forgo a lucrative placement than recommend a casino we would not use ourselves. If you think we have got something wrong, tell us at info@britanniaprizeguide.com — corrections make the guide better.
Responsible gambling
Gambling should be entertainment, never a way to make money or to solve a financial problem. Every page on this site carries the 18+ notice and links to BeGambleAware, GamCare, GAMSTOP and Gamban. Our Safer Gambling page explains the tools available and where to find free, confidential help.
